Mode Splits by Metropolitan Statistical Area
|Each year, the Census Bureau releases mode split information obtained through the American Community Survey. We have reformatted the comparative economic characteristics data for 2014-2018 five year period versus 2009-2013 period to show the mode splits for over 300 metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs). This document contains a series of tables, including estimates of total workers, and columns showing statistical significance by comparing 2014-2018 five year period to previous five year period. Metropolitan statistical areas (MSA) are listed alphabetically and pages are grouped by commute mode share. An asterisk (*) indicates that the estimate is significantly different (at a 90% confidence level) than the estimate from 2009-2013. Please note that the Census Bureau does not re-tabulate past-year estimates based on the current year’s) MSA geographies; the comparison is with the existing geography of each data year.
