The New Commute: Employers Leading the Way announcement of webinar on September 20, 2017 at 2 PM EDT

On September 20, 2017, Best Workplaces for Commuters and WeDriveU co-sponsored the webinar, “The New Commute: Employers Leading the Way”,  featuring Lauren Bennett, Manager of Transportation at Salesforce and Danielle Glaser, Employee Transportation Coordinator with WeDriveU at LinkedIn.  The hour long session was moderated by Julie Bond, project manager for Best Workplaces for Commuters.

Speakers:

Lauren Bennett, Manager of Transportation at Salesforce, is a transit, bike, pedestrian, TDM and technology enthusiast. Prior to joining Salesforce in 2015, Lauren served as Transportation Demand Manager at the University of California at Berkeley with a focus on ensuring seamless access to the University for students, faculty, staff and visitors. From 2012-2014 she was Program Director for Movability Austin, the downtown TMA, guiding TDM strategies and policy recommendations for employers and agencies. Lauren has an MS from the University of Texas at Austin in Community and Regional Planning, and BA degree in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma. She’s very active in the local community and professional organizations such as ACT, Young Professionals in Transportation and SPUR, the San Francisco Bay Area Planning and Urban Research Association.

Danielle Glaser, Employee Transportation Coordinator with WeDriveU at LinkedIn, connects employees to their many commute options available through the RideIn program. Prior to joining WeDriveU in 2016, Danielle was a Delivery Orientation Specialist at Tesla guiding the customer experience on their first day of ownership. She was previously a Policy Intern for SPUR and a LEED Project Coordinator for Catalyst Partners. Danielle enjoys her bike commute to the LinkedIn campus, especially riding along local trails, and is active in two bicycle nonprofits. As a graduate student at San Jose State University, Danielle aims to become an impactful urban planner solving commute mobility and accessibility issues. Danielle also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Community Development from Green Valley State University and a Certificate from UC Berkeley in City and Regional Planning.

They shared their success strategies for creating a vibrant commuting culture that promotes public transit, reduces parking demand and reduces stress. Whether you’re planning a commuter program or expanding one, you’ll takeaway concrete ideas to drive growth and sustainability.
