One of the important reasons employers apply is to receive recognition and media attention. Therefore, a well-planned media announcement is critical to the success of your effort. There are a number of different options:

Media Advisory At least 24 hours prior to an event where you announce your Best Workplaces for Commuters list to the press, be sure to send out a press advisory to media outlets in your area. Here's an example of an advisory used by the folks in the Triangle Region of North Carolina.
Pre-Announcement Briefings Prior to the media announcement, you may need to brief senior officials in your organization on your plans for the event and provide talking points for their remarks. These sample materials may provide a helpful starting point.
