During 2006, EPA is offering a course designed to provide all the tools you'll need to coordinate or support a Best Workplaces for Commuters list release in your metro region—all without leaving the comforts of your own office! Dial-in for a series of telephone training calls and engage experts from around the country who will share their experiences and insights to help make your outreach effort a success.

  • Identify how to use the brand to develop effective marketing materials
  • Tips and strategies for getting the word out

Session 3: Making the Pitch

  • Learn about the National Standard of Excellence
  • How do employer proposals work
  • How do you target your audience for the various stages of the sales process
  • What messages are appropriate for your audience
  • Covers steps 5-7 of the List Release Guide

Session 4: Planning a Media Announcement

  • Understand the key components of an effective media strategy, including crafting the right media angle
  • Various options and venues you can use to announce your list
  • Materials to include in your media kit
  • Tracking procedures for your media
  • Leveraging media results after the list release
