Frequently Asked QuestionsMust all employers in a Best Workplaces for CommutersSM District be included in the list of employers submitted to CUTR?No. Once verified, the District Administrator is asked to submit to CUTR the list of employers within the District. The District Administrator may decide to exclude certain employers from the list if, for example, they do not participate in any commuter benefit programs even though they are eligible. The Administrator may also choose to exclude these employers when distributing promotional materials about the designation, such as use of the Best Workplaces for Commuters District identifier. Employers may also be excluded if they do not wish to be on the list for any reason. What about a group of employers who are served by a TMA or other organization, but do not qualify as a District?Occasionally, a TMA or other organization may work with a group of employers and manage their commuter benefits programs for them, but the area does not meet the criteria for a Best Workplaces for Commuters District. However, some of the individual employers may qualify as Best Workplaces for Commuters. As a short cut for filling out separate applications for a group of employers, the TMA or other organization that runs the commuter benefits program may submit one batch' application for the employers they serve, as long as the employers:

Is every employer within a Best Workplaces for Commuters District considered one of the Best Workplaces for Commuters?No. CUTR gives the designation Best Workplaces for CommutersSM to employers that meet the National Standard of Excellence and have established a relationship with the program by applying individually. Employers can, however, say they are "located within a Best Workplaces for Commuters District" or are "part of a Best Workplaces for Commuters District" or something to that effect. If employers within a Best Workplaces for Commuters District wish to be recognized as one of the Best Workplaces for Commuters, they (or the District Administrator on their behalf) must submit an individual application form for their organization. They must also submit an annual update and information on how the commuters get to work (again, the District Administrator may do this on the employer's behalf).
